It was such an emotional day in Muire Gan Smál today as we waved goodbye to Ms Nally, Mrs Ruane and Mrs Gormley. We’re holding onto Ms Maloney for another 3 weeks!
Ms Nally was a past pupil of our school and later returned in 1983 as a teacher. She became principal in 1998 and today marks her final day after 37 years of service!
Mrs Ruane also began her Muire Gan Smál journey in 1983 where she has worked for over 37 years in the Junior classes and Special education.
And Mrs Gormley, our Galway girl, joined Muire Gan Smál in 2000 after teaching in Dublin for many years.
Ms Maloney joined Muire Gan Smál on the same day as Ms Nally in 1983 and they have been side by side ever since. Nora will officially retire on Oct 23rd.
Please join us this evening on 106FM (Claremorris Church Parish Radio) at 7.30pm as we celebrate a socially distanced retirement mass for these 4 wonderful teachers and all that they have done for our school over the last 37 years
